This CD showcases some of the calmer, richer sounds of ballads, which serve to highlight the beautiful tone Anne creates with her gold flute. As well I have the opportunity to wear my heart on my sleeve while accompanying her and appreciated exploring a gentler side of pianistic exploration and extrapolation. As
always, Anne and I consider it an honor to bring you some solace and pleasure

Ivory&Gold®:
Songs of the Wanderers
This is the latest installment of the musical adventures of the Ivory&Gold trio. We are delving into new territory both stylistically and interpretively. The oldest songs on this recording hail back to the ragtime era with Hoosier Rag and Red Rose Rag. Ironically, the most recent tune we essay is also ragtime, but there is something for everyone here, from ragtime to Latinate, to stride and blues.

Jeff and Anne play with the jazz icon Bob Wilber, along with Bob’s protégés Antti Sarpila and Nik Payton as well as Bucky Pizzarelli, Nicki Parrott and Ed Metz. This is a richly textured album, a smoothie with a lot of fine ingredients, featuring an all-star cast.

This CD compilation continues Ivory&Gold's® diverse selection of songs and styles. Some are in a traditional style – Paragon Rag, some are echoes of childhood memories – Lonesome Road, and also an improvised track that just “came together” at the recording studio– Sunset. All are reflections of Anne, Danny and Jeff’s friendship and love of making music for you.
